Paula Coop McCrory is a visual artist who, with her husband and 3 children, pre-empted her long term plans to leave the city in 15 years. Fast forwarding on that decision has opened up space for her to create and be most true to herself.

Focusing on one word this year changed my entire life. Last January, at the top of a page in my journal, I wrote out the year, 2018, and then below that, I painted big colourful watercolour letters lined with black ink spelling out my word.

Late last year, I realized that some parts of my life were thriving and others were looking a little bit flat. So in January, I decided that instead of waiting until the end of the year to take stock and come up with goals for the new year, I would do that at the end of every month.
